Human rights activist and EndSARS campaigner, Segun Awosanya, has expressed his willingness to participate in the peace walk organised by Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu.
It should be recalled that The News Beam earlier reported that while reacting to the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry report, Sanwo-olu had called for a march to ‘heal’ the land, inviting members of the public and some major #EndSARS campaigners including Mr. Awonsanya.
“I will be leading A WALK FOR PEACE to herald the healing of our land”, the Governor said.
“Folarin Falana (Falz). Debo Adebayo (Mr. Marcaroni). Dele Farotimi. Temitope Majekodunmi. Segun Awosanya(Segalinks). Adetoun (Just Detoun). Seun Kuti. Cp Hakeem Odumosu. Csp Yinka Egbeyemi, join me on this historic march for our dear Lagos”, he added.

While Falz, Marcaroni, and Seun Kuti have all turned down the invitation, Awosanya has given reasons he will honour the Governor’s invitation.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, he said “Because I am an advocate for peace, justice, equity, and fairness, I will walk with anybody who wants peace”.
“There are no absolutes. Because I agree with some people on certain things does not mean I am in alignment with them. So if I walk with the Governor today, it does not stop me from criticising the Governor”, he added.
Mr Awosanya is also a member of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry which probed cases of police brutality and the incidents surrounding the alleged shooting of protesters in October, 2020
