Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmad has complained that some Nigerians are breaking down the world’s largest rice pyramids in Abuja.
President Buhari had unveiled the rice pyramids which comprised of one million bags of rice paddy stacked together last January with the Federal government explaining that the rice was gotten from farmers across Nigeria, under the Anchor Borrower’s Programme (ABP).

However, many Nigerians had expressed concerns on social media that the pyramid was fake and only a few bags were stacked on a wooden pyramid.
Taken to his Twitter page, on February 2, 2022, Bashir said “The Abuja rice pyramids are being dismantled, I am sure some of us are still expecting to see a hidden wooden structure so they can validate their earlier claims. But another disappointment”
Assuring Nigerians that the initiative is not a fluke, he added “The paddy rice is being distributed to many rice mills across the nation for processing”.
