The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has disclosed the things that will help Nigeria start production of airplanes before the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in 2023.
Sirika disclosed this after an inspection visit to the Magnus Aircraft Industry in Pogany, Hungary.
Disclosing the features that will make the aircraft production possible, the minister in a statement signed by his spokesman, James Odaudu, explained that the Magnus plane is lightweight, made of high-strength composite materials and uses normal petrol for cars, making it easy for it to be produced in the country.
He also revealed that the features of the aircraft makes it proper for a good military training, as it has the ability to do aerobatic manoeuvre, enabling the aircraft to outperform any training aircraft of its kind.
According to Sirika, “If we venture with them (Magnus Aircraft), we may start with assembling plant and later manufacturing.”
He further expressed satisfaction with the features and readiness to facilitate the production in the country.
