Team Nigeria’s medal and win drought continues on the 4th and 5th day of the Tokyo Olympics Games.
On Tuesday, day 4 of the competition, the team lost all its scheduled games; badminton, basketball, and table tennis.
The team was defeated by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) 2-0 in the Badminton men’s double group stage. The Russian team won the two rounds 21-8 & 21-10.
Also, at the women’s singles group stage of the game, Adesokan Dorcas lost to AN Seyoung of South Korea. The Korean star won 2-0.
Furthermore, D’Tigress lost 9 points to the USA in the preliminary stage of the women’s basketball game. The USA won 81-72 in the game.
Nigeria’s table tennis star, Aruna Quadri, was also unable to turn the table yesterday as he was beaten 2-4 by Tsubi Gustavo of Brazil. Quadri won two of the 6 rounds (15-13, 9-11,6-11,11-7, 7-11 & 6-11).
Today, Wednesday, the 5th day of the event. Nigeria’s basketball team, D’Tigers, has also lost to the German at the Men’s Preliminary Round of the game.
Although two Nigerian athletes in the Olympics were recognised for breaking the Olympics and world record at the ongoing event.
