The traffic from Yaba will be diverted from February 1, 2022, for the continuation of the first phase of construction work on the Red Line covering Oyingbo to Agbado.
The Lagos State Government has announced this in a statement signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde.
Motorists heading towards Muritala Mohammed Way from Western Avenue will be diverted to Empire Road at Jibowu, while traffic heading towards Western Avenue from Yaba will be diverted to Empire Road.

According to Oladeinde, the installation of precast beams necessitated a diversion in order for road users to be protected.
The 2-week-long site activity, which is in furtherance of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project, will end on February 16, 2022.
