Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho (born October 10, 1972), is a Nigerian human right activist, politician and business man.
He is the chairman of Adeson International Business Concept Ltd and the Akoni Oodua of Yoruba. He gained social media tractions in January 2021 when he gave a week ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa to vacate the land after the killing of Dr. Aborode.
Igboho on Friday, January 15, visited the Fulani settlement in Igangan and reportedly insisted that Seriki, a popular herder, must leave the town, saying so many people fingered him to be behind the insecurity in the area. He eventually gave the Fulani herdsmen a seven-day ultimatum to leave the area.
Igboho accused the Fulani community in the area of masterminding abductions, killings, and other criminal activities in the area. He insisted they must leave the state and the entire Yorubaland, if kidnapping continues.
However, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state reacted to the ultimatum given to the herders by Igboho.
Governor Makinde faulted the move and explained that no one has the right to ask anyone else to leave any part of the country.
According to the governor, the common enemy of the people are hoodlums, cultists, armed robbers, kidnappers, and bandits not herders looking for pasture for their flock.
The Governor however dared to arrest him, if further action is taken by him, following his “leave” order to Fulani herders in Igangan community.
Igboho on Friday, January 22, stormed the town in Ibarapa East local government area of Oyo state after the expiration of his seven-day ultimatum to the Fulani herders mandating them to vacate the community.
However today, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has directed the state police command to immediately arrest Igboho and his supporters, as police yesterday took position in the troubled Igangan community, in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Similarly, Punch reports that The Presidency says the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, for giving Fulani in Oyo State an ultimatum to exit the state.
Igboho was born in Igboho, Oke ogun in Oyo state but his father relocated to Modakeke in Osun state and that’s where he grew up. He started off as a motorcycle repairer and then venutured into automobiles where he sells cars and was able to start Adeson business Concept.
